Physiology of the complex

The complex is a series of vinyasas. Each vinyasa is a sequence of asanas changing one another, that work on a group of muscles with complementary functions (muscles team).

The base of a muscle team are the antagonists muscles. Each vinyasa works with a pair of antagonist muscles of a body zone, training its ability to quick quality switching, i.e. keeping the balance in the pair. Vinyasa also “teaches” the muscles that constitute the muscle team to work in coordination. Vinyasas of the complex are arranged in order of complicating load.

The antagonists muscles that are being worked on in a vinyasa are parts of a muscle canal. So during the asana the muscles that form the muscle canal are activated sequentially.

Muscle canal is a group of muscles with similar function. It includes the projection zones of several chakras. Harmonious work of the muscle canal will ensure a degree of freedom of movement in a joint.

Thus, the movements in various asanas of a vinyasa allow to work through different tilt angles of the joint that is situated on the way of the muscle canal.

Muscles of the chosen zone are worked through in three ways:

— through forming of the balance in the pair of the antagonists muscles: through gaining the skill to switch from the concentric to the eccentric type of contraction;

— through forming a muscle canal (from the muscles with the same function performed in the body): through the gaining skill to remain in the proportioned ratio “tension-length”;

— through simultaneous isometric activation of the key muscles of the zone (Rohanasana), that ensures the “total activation of the zone”.

Each muscle of the zone is worked through in all its alternative functions by means of all possible kind of contractions.
